
Weekend Breaks In Scotland
Now that Scotland have decided to stay as part of the UK, we thought we’d show you some great places in Scotland to visit… now that it’s safe to cross the border! We kid. Anyway, following the Scottish Referendum, here are some suggestions for wonderful weekend breaks in Scotland.
Oban

Take the time to venture to the seafood capital of Scotland! With its picturesque bay that resembles a horseshoe the Oban area is a stunning location that offers a lot of fun activities. Of these you can chose some great water based activities such as kayaking and white water rafting.
Fort William

If it’s a trip to get away from all the stress in the city, then take a weekend bag and enjoy the rural landscape of Fort William. It’s the ideal destination for an escape to the Highlands and it’s not to fr from Ben Nevis which, is a popular destination fro those long hill walks. Also, you can take part in some adventure sports like rock climbing or mountain biking.
Perth

The county of Perthshire is the home of some of the must spectacular landscapes and the historical city of Perth can be found on the banks of the River Tay. This city was the location fro Fair Maid of Perth, the works of Sir Walter Scott. And for any fans of bridges, you can find four outstanding examples that cross over the Tay including the famous Smeaton’s Bridge. Perth is also a beautiful place for some peaceful wild life watching with deer and falcons to name a few of the creatures you can observe.
Dunfermline

From it being the location for King Malcolm III, of Scotland’s wedding to being the home of the Pittencrieff Park , Dunfermline is a must visit when you are in Scotland. As it sits on the fringes of the Fife coast, it is steeped in such interesting history which, you will be gripped by. The Abbey should also be on your list of landmarks to visit as it is surrounded by the Pittencrieff Park.
Jedburg

If it’s a peaceful weekend away you’re after then cast your eyes upon Jedbugh. It is located on the Jet Water, and this quaint town is ideal for an escape from your work life. You won’t be totally isolated as you can find the little necessities in the shape of the many shops and cafes where you can enjoy your lunch. The Jedforest Deer and Farm Park and the Ferniehirst Castle are some of the best places to visit in the area, if you’re looking to take in a bit of the town’s culture.
