Explore Litchfield National Park From Darwin
Discover the best of this national park’s natural wonders with Kakadu Wild Expeditions’ One Day Wild Litchfield Adventure.
Explore this beautiful destination starting off in Darwin and journeying south in 4WD vehicles, adventure style! Spend the day and head back or make the most of it with the optional addition of a Darwin Sunset Harbour Cruise.
Once in Litchfield National Park, the first sights are the amazing Cathedral and Magnetic termite mounds. Insect mounds? Yes, really. These are serious pieces of work, some tower up to a height of 6 metres. Listen to your guide as they explain some weird and wonderful facts about these unique insects.
Litchfield is famed for its waterfalls and clear plunge pools, so of course you’ll have time for a dip. After a short walk you’ll arrive at the spectacular Florence Falls, a double waterfall set amid monsoon forest, and the perfect location for a picnic lunch.
In the afternoon it’s on to one of the most popular spots in Litchfield, Wangi Falls, where you can explore the waterfall and its large plunge pool.
Day Tour only guests return to Darwin, while those who have opted to include the Harbour Sunset Cruise continue to Stokes Hill Wharf. Here you will be met by the SeaDarwin crew who will take you out on the cruise to enjoy not only the sunset but also tasty locally caught fish and chips and a glass of sparkling wine or soft drink. There is a licensed bar on board for those of you who’d like to enjoy another tipple at your own expense.
The One Day Wild Litchfield Adventure includes an experienced guide, lunch and park fees for just $109, while the day tour with the sunset cruise is $159, which also includes 1.5-hour cruise and dinner.
