Litchfield National Park

The best time to go to Kakadu, or any national park, is during the dry season from April – November, because flooding can close some roads. Nitmiluk National Park

Lying south of Kakadu, you can drive to Nitmiluk National Park from Darwin in four hours on National Highway 1. Camping is very popular here, so sites at Nitmiluk Gorge and Edith Falls have great facilities and are right by the most popular spots in the park. You could park up at either of these campsites and enjoy hiking, boat cruises and canoeing.
