The Gathering, otherwise known as Harvest festival is fast approaching and is set to be one
of the festivals of 2011.With a line-up hot enough to make other festivals green with envy, it truly is the talk on everyone’s lips in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

What Harvest has that other festivals don’t is the long-awaited return to Australia from
Portishead. Portishead have spanned a twenty year career together so far but have
not been on Australian soil for fourteen years. With infamous hits such as ‘Glory Box’
and ‘Numb’, attendees are sure to see one of England’s finest acts at their best.

Harvest is an adult-only one-day event which includes a plethora of other performers from
all over the world, including The Flaming Lips, Bright Eye’s, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and
The National.

The promoters themselves describe Harvest as being “not a festival, it’s a feeling” and they
have gone about this by choosing 3 very green locations in three major cities in which to
hold it at. The atmosphere will be set with ambient lighting, art installations, cocktail bars
and holistic markets.
