Four Tet’s Fabriclive 59
Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden has joined the ranks and produced the latest in the long-running Fabriclive series. Kieran’s mix deftly moves between 2-step and garage, UK funky and even a bit of grime and features rare tunes that Hebden felt were lost or under-appreciated on release alongside some new Four Tet material and, rather oddly, recordings of the inside of the club. Hebden says the album is “Not about my DJing, it is about London and Fabric and nights out and my take on all that. The memories and the influences,” yet the contrasts within the album make it just as suitable for living room listening as partying. Look out for the new Four Tet track, Pyramids, out on Hebden’s own Text label. Choppy vocals, driving kick and bass and slick production will make this a surefire dancefloor regular.
