Fraser Island Wildlife tours
Set sail to Fraser Island and you’ll find more than just stunning scenery and crystal clear lakes. Here, we take a look at Fraser Island’s wildlife and what to look out for.
Fraser Island is famous for its dingo population as well as 46 other species of mammal that call the island home. When it comes to furry critters if you look hard enough you’ll be able to spot swamp wallabies, sugar gliders, small eared mountain possums, squirrel gliders, mud rats and the delicate mouse to name a mere handful. One thing you do have to remember is when looking out for smaller furry marsupials is they tend to be nocturnal, so you’ll either have to stay up late or wake up early to catch them going about their business on the island.
Be sure to pack your binoculars and a wildlife guide on your Fraser Island tours to see how many local’s you can find.
