February to April is a really good time to visit, the temperature is around 31C during the day and around 23C in the night and the rain fall is low. During this season you can expect to be able to enjoy all the activities the region has to offer, especially marine activity. The hotel prices begin to rise however bargains are always available as more and more Galle residents extend their properties to provide bed and breakfast facilities.

From December to February the weather is hot and dry, temperatures ranging from 31C to 25 C at night. Be warned that prices can go up during the Christmas period so if you are taking time off work then book your hotel early to secure good rates. This is a good time for visiting the rain forests and tea plantations. All water sports are accessible in this season.
