Gold Coast Secret Spots
There’s nothing better than finding a hidden gem in the busy tourist beacon that is the Gold Coast. We look at the best secret locations in and around the Gold Coast that you need to know about before the masses arrive and take it from you. As much as we love the Gold Coast, at BBM we do enjoy the isolation like Leo DiCaprio’s character enjoyed with his friends in the film “The Beach”. Take a look at some of the locations that you need to visit before they’re found out. We’re so nice to let you in on the Gold Coast secret spots.
Natural Bridge

This little piece of heaven is home to the fascinating colony of glow worms who’s light can not be seen until after sun set. A rich rainforest is found in the Springbrook National Park where the Natural Bridge is the result of crashing waters over millions of years descending through the basalt cave. Found in one of the most popular parks in Australia. When in the park join in one of the nocturnal tours so that you can witness the glow worms, before you enter the cave for the glow worms you will need to bring a torch with you.
Greenmount Beach

This is an underrated beach in the Gold Coast area, not because it lacks the quality of the more popular and famous beaches such as Surfers Paradise and Burleigh but rather, it isn’t first that comes to mind. As, the large numbers pack the more famous beaches, the Greenmount Beach sits fairly untouched and it’s yours to take full advantage of.
Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens

Sadly overlooked by even the locals, the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens is a great place to visit for those quite days out for a relaxing walk or to take a group of friends & family out for a picnic. There are a number of interesting attraction to keep you entertained such as the Butterfly Garden and you can choose to take the mountain walk to stretch those legs of yours. Also, if you’d prefer you can make an appointment for guided tours of the 31 hectares.
Caloundra’s Beaches

Caloundra is known for it’s not crowded beaches and it has great views of the heritage listed Glass House Mountain. Moffat Beach, Happy Valley and Shelly Beach are the lesser known/popular beaches along the Caloundra, however, we recommend that you take advantage of this fact and enjoy an almost empty beach to yourself, family and friends. The other beaches such as Kings and Dicky Beach draw in more of the crowds so you can be sure to be undisturbed when spending time at either Moffat Beach, Happy Valley or Shelly Beach.
Currumbin Valley Rock Pools

The rock pools are ideal to have a quite time away from all your stresses. Take a group of your friends, a picnic and throw some football or cricket gear in the back of the car as there are large green openings to play a friendly game or two. The pools are perfect for a quick dip on those hot days and just 12km down the road you will find the Currumbin Beach.
