DEEPCHILD (LIVE)
+ Jimi Polar (Junkbeats/Future Classic)
+ Ben Feggans
+ Trinity
+ Jay Smalls

Loosekaboose, one of Sydney’s longest running techno nights makes its Danceteria debut with the reappearance of one of Australia’s biggest music exports DEEPCHILD [Trapez/Get Physical/Freerange] performing one of his world renowned techno funk fuelled LIVE sets.

As a core member of the Trapez recording-artist roster, the Deepchild production aesthetic lingers within the dark realm of bass heavy, insistant techno and melodic house with scattered references to the mutated classic-disco and soul eras of the past. This is gritty resurrection of machine based music that shudders deep in your soul. It is both intimately familiar and curiously alien. Whilst he has supported the likes of Stacey Pullen, Troy Peirce (MINUS), Justin Martin (Dirtybird), Ivan Smagghe, Matthias Tanzman (Moon Harbour), Basic Soul Unit and Adam Beyer and produced #1-sellers for Anabatic Records, Resopal Schallware, Opossum Records and Thoughtless Music, Deepchild is a world class headliner is his own right.

The second special guest for the night is prominent 90’s underground house DJ Ben Feggans, returning to the decks for an extremely rare set. Ben was a regular at parties such as Tweakin and Sabotage alongside the likes of Simon Caldwell, Phil Smart and Sugar Ray, Ben also ran his own night with Nick Field called ‘Circles’ at Club77, and cannot wait to play some of his classic acid, house and techno tunes from the last two decades in the early hours of the morning.

The two special guests will be supported by Loosekaboose residents Jimi Polar (Future Classic), Trinity (Pinksilver) and Jay Smalls [The Box].

MUX MOOL (Ghostly International/USA)
+ Expensive Looks (USA)
+ Astral DJs
+ More TBA

Astral People proudly present their first Australian tour with out of this world beat maker Mux Mool this June!

Sitting somewhere on a fly-by style intergalactic plane, MUX MOOL creates music destined to make you feel. From sex-tinged G-Funk to low-end disco and genre blurring post hip-hop impressions, his acclaimed works are stuck in an unseen haze between club readiness and analogue emotional connectivity. Following on years of obscure influence and experimental production, the Brooklyn/Minneapolas-based Brian Lindgred’s first official beats came via Moodgadget, a former launchpad label of Seth Troxler and Outlier. With follow up EP’s on Matthew Dear’s ‘Ghostly International’ (including a track on their Adult Swim collaboration ‘Ghostly Swim’) his debut album ‘Skulltaste’ was released to unanimous praise and support since from Africa Hitech, SBTRKT, Resident Advisor, Stones Throw Records, XLR8R and a slew of future-tinged beat makers with an eye for the stars.

His conceptual offerings are built for performance, enhanced by a live show that will raise public expectations (and sound system capabilities) for modern musicians. Armed with a vast array of productions and corresponding influences, his show dips in and out of genres, decades and the goal to push an audience to its absolute limits (but don’t worry, it’s still a party). As one of the most exciting beat-makers of the current era, Mux Mool is destined to turn heads and feet on his truly exciting debut tour of Australia.

“She’s like US “anti-folk” songwriters Jeffrey Lewis and Kimya Dawson, sighing off lyrics that couch their insights in fleeting thoughts and deadpan punchlines.” Doug Wallen, Mess + Noise

“I love the old school slacker rhythm guitar. I love the jangly riffs. I love the oh-so-cool bass. And I totally love the disarmingly charming lyrics…” Dan Buhagiar, triple j

SLEEP D (Death Strobe/Melb)

Now, the boys are bringing their dancefloor decadence to their only club in Sydney, and they have some serious special guests coming along for the ride…

Joining Parkside on their first ever Sydney quest is Melbourne sleaze-house duo SLEEP D, whose fresh (out of high school) take on deep house and polished sounds have caught worldwide attention from..well..just about everyone. Their very recent ‘Bacon EP’ was recently picked up by Sydney high-flyers Death Strobe Records, becoming young-envy of the worlds more mature house superstars. This marks Sleep D’s first Sydney tour since the release so expect nothing less than an unmissable journey from the basement to the ballroom.

We’re also proud to welcome Sydney selectors-to-the-stars MIRROR MIRROR to the Parkside stage. Having supported the likes of Greg Wilson, Maurice Fulton, Horse Meat Disco and My Cousin Roy, the handsome twins are speculated and known to be ridiculously in-sync. Experienced in the field of lush dancefloor magic and purely ridiculous track selection, consider them your friends in dance and and some dependable party-starters.

Following from their incredible Sydney parties, ZEUS from the future-tinged Compound nights will also be weaving spiritual house-circa 3000AD. And not forgetting your regular Parkside residents in between, you have one hell of a night. Join Parkside for ultimate dancefloor decadence.

What: KIRIN J CALLINAN ‘W II W’ Single Launch Tour
When: Friday 22 June 8pm
Price: $15 + BF through Moshtix

KIRIN J CALLINAN
+ DCM
+ Forces
+ Kangaroo Skull

In alliance with Terrible Records (run by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor) of the United States of America and Siberia Records (Midnight Juggernauts) in his home state, Kirin J Callinan returns with the brand new 7″ single ‘W II W’ (Way to War). Taken from his forthcoming full-length album, ‘W II W’ launches with an east coast tour this June.

‘W II W’ is a synesthetic joyride to the frontline – voice, guitar and other machines painting the sonic image of war. All napalm, machine guns and loneliness, choppers and tracer bullets; you could be running for your life or gasping for your last breath. It’s perverted, raw and fun, and it’s the first single from Kirin J Callinan’s forthcoming debut solo album.

‘W II W’ succeeds Kirin’s critically acclaimed 7″ EP She, described as a “slow burning desert love song, all tumbleweed and condemned, rusted petrol stations” (Mess+Noise); a handful of split cassette and flexi-disk releases with industrial minimal synth duo Forces; and Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders’ 2012 Australian Music Prize nominated and critically confused album Hurtsville.

What: AUDEGO ‘Abominable Galaxy’ Album Launch
When: Saturday 23 June 8pm
Price: $5 on the door

Formed in 2010, right from the start Audego (Au-dah-go) had the makings of something special. As one of Australia’s most versatile and accomplished producers, Paso Bionic aka Shehab Tariq has produced 5 albums as part of Curse ov Dialect and a further 4 with TZU, as well as a solo record under his own name.

As one of Australia’s finest female vocalists, Big Fella aka Carolyn Tariq also brings a wealth of experience and talent to the fold. Having released her solo album ‘The Longest Winter’ in 2009, she has toured across the states and also performed at a number of big events. Wanting to contribute to the greater good, she has also organized and facilitated numerous workshops throughout Victoria and QLD teaching song writing to disadvantaged youth. The result of the combined force of Paso Bionic and Big Fella is a pretty/gritty mix of silky vocals, smudged samples, blurred synths and crooked percussion.

On the stage, Audego’s live show features projections created by Australia’s visuals expert Jean Poole, who has masterminded a finely mashed audio/visual showcase of the dopest variety. With Paso Bionic orchestrating the sound, Big Fella can do what she does best by taking hold of the mic to tie it all together vocally. Be prepared for your senses to be seduced.
