Melodic maestro Guy Gerber is about to make his long awaited return to Australia later this month.
After the recent success of his new two-track EP Secret Encounters, Guy is set to hit Australia’s shores with a bang. Guy is without a doubt one of the hardest working men in the scene today, he owns two record labels, throws his own parties in Ibiza and internationally, tirelessly tours the globe and produces some of the highest quality electronic music in the world.
Guy Gerber is an artist with a difference. His goal isn’t to necessarily give the punter what they think they want, like click-bait posts on his social media channels or crowd-pleasing tunes at his shows. Instead the Israeli native is on a mission to challenge his audience, often incorporating different sounds, elements and ideas into his work to get people thinking. Guy has been making waves in the scene for a while now, from his collaborative album with hip-hop king Puff Daddy to his monster 12-hour set at Burning Man, he is continuously pushing boundaries musically and intellectually. He states “do your thing and at one point, the world will understand”.
Guy will be taking listeners on a journey Down Under over the New Year period where he’ll be squeezing five shows into six days. His tour kicks off at the mammoth Beyond The Valley festival in Victoria alongside artists Chance The Rapper, Kölsch, Oliver Huntemann and Hudson Mohawke on December 30. He’ll then be heading to Code in Sydney on the 31st which features Mano Le Tough, Alex Niggemann, Audiojack and Umek. New Years Day see’s Guy play at That Party Circa Rooftop, La La Land in Byron Bay will be playing host on January 3rd and then he’s off to Bali on January 4th.
