With the New Year, comes new music in the form of Hanni El Khatib. Join other likeminded fans this January in Melbourne to experience the Californian singer/song-writer’s new album.
The inspiration for this album came after Khatib bumped into Dan Auerbach (Black Key)and rehashed ideas in a Parisian bar. After erasing all of life’s comforts from his album he followed instinct and inspiration to delve into a world he’d never encountered before. Those seeds of adventure gave birth to ‘Head In The Dirt’ produced by Auerbach himself, an album which unearths and explores the history of rebel music.
The song-writer knows his lyrics and how to make them stick in your mind, keep an ear out for ‘Save Me’, ‘Family’, ‘Pay No Mind’ and ‘Nobody Move’. Hanni El Khatib plays with part blues, part garage rock, part soul, part folk… he’s taken all of the best parts of music and brought them to you in one sophisticated, inspiring and experimental album.
Hear him live this January before the release of his album on 3rd May 2014, along with opening act White Denim who are celebrating their 5th studio album ‘Corsicana Lemonade’. This is the only way to quench your thirst in the heatwave.
