Happy Mondays Rearrange May Tour
The good news is; Happy Mondays, the 1980s band from Manchester who provided a link between dance music and rock ‘n’ roll, have added fellow “madchester” group 808 State to their Australian tour. The bad news is they have also announced they are to re-schedule their May Australian Tour to June 2013.
The original group will bring the music they played at the Hacienda during the late 80’s and early 90’s to Australian shores for the first time, performing four dates. The first is Metropolis in Fremantle on June 5th, the second The Palace in Melbourne on the 6th. The group also play in Brisbane on June 7th and finish the tour on June 10th for the Queen’s Birthday Holiday.
All tickets that were purchased for the May tour will be valid for the dates in June. Furthermore 808 State will be playing a DJ set at all of the tour dates, taking the place of Peter Hook, formerly of Joy Division and New Order, who is unavailable during June.
