Higgo shares his latest productions!!!

2020 was a big year in the rise of new UK producer, and DJ, Higgo. After quickly climbing the ranks of the UKG scene over the last few years, the spotlight is now firmly set on the near London-based producer, after he won a remix competition, hosted live by Grammy-nominated dance music super-duo, Disclosure.

 “EVIL DEAD – THE MUSICAL”

Higgo’s remix of Disclosure’s ‘Restless’ has received support on Radio 1 by the brothers themselves, and he was even interviewed on Radio 1’s flagship news programme Newsbeat about winning. EZ crowned Higgo’s remix of Restless his ‘track of week’ on his Nuvolve Radio show, and he supported it on Radio 1 too.

Other 2020 highlights include remixing DJ S.K.T & Jem Cooke ‘Boomerang’ on 3Beat, which was supported across Radio 1 & Kiss FM. Higgo closed 2020, with an exclusive 1 hour live DJ mix for the legend Todd Edwards, on his Rinse FM show.

Higgo’s rapidly growing fanbase includes key tastemakers such as Disclosure, EZ, Todd Edwards, Majestic, Conducta, and DJ Q.

Higgo kicked off 2021 with next level remixes of Stylo G ‘Oh Lawd’ on 3Beat, and Karen Harding & Shift K3Y ‘Morning’ on Ultra.

Higgo is now ready for his official 2021 launch, with his first original record of the year ‘Sleeping Alone’ with an amazing vocal from hot new artist Poppy Baskcomb on Relentless’ new label 21 NHG.

With more singles, and even more exciting remixes already planned for 2021 such as Picard Brothers on Island, and Jaden Thompson on Three Six Zero, make sure you keep a close eye on Higgo, as he cements his position as one of the most talented, and original new artists to break through in years.

Frankie Salt interview with Higgo 

What have you been up to keep busy over the recent difficult times? 

Making as much music as possible! My goal at the start of lockdown was to create enough that I can play sets completely full of new music once gigs are allowed again.

How did you stay positive when gigs were getting postponed or cancelled? 

I found that speaking to my DJ/music friends helped a lot for my positivity. It’s comforting to know that we’re all in the same boat – I found that most of my friends also struggled creatively at times when it felt like lockdown would never end.

Now that bars, pubs and restaurants are reopening, what are you most looking forward to? 

Of course, I can’t wait to be able to play shows again, but I think I’ve missed the feeling of being in the crowd even more. Huge groups of people all there for the love of the music, the full weight of the soundsystem, you can’t beat that feeling!

What is on the horizon for you musically? 

I’ve been working with tonnes of amazing artists lately, writing some big singles ready for release later this year. I’ve also got a whole bunch of remixes in my back pocket to tide the fans over until then!

If you could travel anywhere in the next year, where would it be?

I’d love to fly out to New Zealand! Some of the festivals and shows out there looked incredible this past year, especially while we weren’t able to.
