Highlights From The Start Of UK Festival Season 2015
Whilst Ibiza is gradually waking up for its heavy party season, UK festivals are already in full swing with some of the biggest and wildest festivals around. Here are some highlights from festivals so far, featuring The Great Escape and We Are FSTVL.
Live At Leeds
Live At Leeds is one hell of an impressive cosmopolitan festival. Even though it may not be on the same scale as Leeds Fest, the new festival features some of the best upcoming artists in the industry, and the turn out each year is massive. With George The Poet, Lawson, Pixelfix, Lucy Rose and many other talented artists gracing the stages, Live At Leeds is home to hidden gem artists, and is massively underrated on the festival calendar!
Field Day
With a line up featuring FKA Twigs, Hudson Mohawke, Caribou, Patti Smith and Django Django, Field Day was inevitably going to be memorable. Livening up Victoria Park in our glorious capital, here’s a highlights video of Field Day’s Saturday.
The Great Escape
Brighton might be home to sugar coated doughnuts, sticky rock and their famous pier, however The Great Escape is quickly taking over, showing us that brilliant music is still being made. Emerging artists from all over the world, The Great Escape aims to show off upcoming talent scattered around 35 venues in good old Brighton. This year, The Great Escape saw the likes of Alabama Shakes, Skepta & JME, and Kate Tempest, who all gave memorable performances.
We Are FSTVL
Located in Upminster, We Are FSTVL went off with big names such as Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Hannah Wants and Waze & Odyssey blowing up every stage. We Are FSTVL brings the Ibiza vibes to Essex, with some of the most impressive DJ artists in the world. Here’s a full video of Carl Cox shaking up the main stage.
Parklife
Manchester’s Parklife might just be the craziest music event in the country, and with an impressive line-up featuring Annie Mac, Fatboy Slim, Jamie XX and Rudimental, thousands and thousands of party goers headed up to Heaton Park last weekend to kick off their summer.
Radio 1’s Big Weekend
Radio 1 never fail to give us an amazing line-up, and this year brought us impressive headliners, rock legends Foo Fighters and Muse, Britain’s finest Florence & The Machine and America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift. Radio 1 are also known for sniffing out the next big thing, and their Big Weekender was a showcase of the finest artists in the industry. Here’s a video of indie rockers, Circa Waves performing ‘T-Shirt Weather’.
