Get your sauerkraut out: Oktoberfest is on its way.
Oktoberfest is synonymous with beer-swigging, sausage-eating, lederhosen-wearing funfair good times, traditionally taking over the German city of Munich for 16 days from late September to early October. But Germany doesn’t get to have all the fun.
Gearing up for Oktoberfest, Hophaus are throwing their very own Hoptoberfest from Friday 18th – Sunday 27th September. Bringing Munich to Melbourne, the party starts with the Tapping of the Keg with flowing beer and a DJ playing German Haus. On Saturday 19th, Hoptoberfest will officially open with a full day of entertainment including the Teckelrennen Dachsund Race at 10.30 am, Tapping of the Keg at noon, a sausage-eating competition at 1pm, and live German music at 2pm and 7pm. On Saturday 26th, there will be yet another Tapping of the Keg at 2pm and from then there will be live music until 10pm.
Throughout the 11 days, there will be a special Bavarian Oktoberfest menu, and you can book lunch or dinner now to secure your seat at the feast.
