A skydive back to earth may be a staple of everyone’s bucket list, but for those of you that don’t fancy jumping out of a plane or want to try the newest sport to hit Australia, the experience and feeling of flying may seem too far out of reach. However, there is now an answer to your weightlessness prayers with Australia’s first indoor skydiving facility in Sydney.

In April 2014, iFLY Downunder opened its doors and has been welcoming budding skydivers with the use of a state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel, propelling flyers into the air at a speed of 250kms per hour, using four 450 horsepower electric fans. At five feet in diameter and 13 metres high, the tunnel is one of the largest in the world, and comfortably accommodates up to eight individuals.

Joined by an instructor and wearing full flight equipment, first-timers will get two flights, which equals more freefall time than two outdoor skydives, so the whole experience lasts considerably longer!

As a result of the enclosed and controlled environment, anyone from 3 to 103 can take part!

New and returning flyers can enjoy this experience from just $89 for two flights. For $189, time in the tunnel can be extended to two double-length flights. Or for only $119 the iFLY High option, which sees the flyer whizz all the way to the top of the 13-metre wind tunnel.

Open seven days a week, 365 days a year, iFLY Downunder aims to make it as easy and convenient for you to feel the thrill of flying. To be one of the first in Australia to skydive indoors, head down to their location in Penrith along Mulgoa Road, next to Penrith Panthers. With plans to set up more wind tunnels in the future, Skydive Australia Group Limited and iFLY Downunder are set to take over Australia and solidify their status as the most exciting new adventure in Oz.
