We wait in anticipation as South Londoner, Jamie T, prepares to jet down under to play at Falls Festival 2016/17. And that’s not all he has planned whilst soaking up the Southern Hemispheres summer sun! Whilst on Australian soil he has added to his headline tour, selling out at The Croxton, Melbourne, and also show casing his sounds at Sydney’s, Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 4th January. Now there’s a show not to be missed!

Falls Festival Appearance

In support of his latest album, Trick, Jamie T has been touring to grow and strengthen relationships with his beloved fans. It’s only been a year since he last toured with his album ‘Carry on The Grudge’, but as he told us at BBMLive, he has deliberately crafted ‘Trick’ for live performances. This now brings him back to Australia where he will appear, among a string of globally recognised artists, at Secret Sounds’, 24th Annual Music and Arts Festival. This, the Falls Festival seeing scope across four state locations including Lorne, Marion Bay, Fremantle and Byron Bay. And why not add a couple of headline shows to meet the needs of his following?!

One of the UK’s Most Unique Songwriters

Debuting close to 10 years ago, 5 times NME award winner, Jamie T, has long since established himself as one of the UK’s most unique songwriters, through combining his love of all things folk, ska, punk and reggae. Having released 4 critically acclaimed albums, all scaling the Top 5 in the UK charts he is certainly creating sweet sounding tunes that please our ears!

Voyage of Self-Discovery

Within 2 years of his debut in 2007 Jamie T had produced 2 outstandingly successful albums with ‘Panic Prevention’ and ‘Kings and Queens’. And although Jamie T never ceased writing, he since spent 4 long years back at what he terms as ‘school’ relearning how to write songs again. He describes this as time essentially copying other artist’s songs in the hope of finding a new way of doing what he does best.

This time also took him travelling, around America, on a voyage of self-discovery. As Jamie T admits, with the success of his first 2 albums, he was forced to grow up quickly and a need to jet off out of the limelight was required to rejuvenate his love of songwriting once more.

The Return of the Dapper Dressed Jamie T

And so now we see the return of Jamie T, a mature man, recently turned 30, in dapper dress, who is slightly less hyperactive! Most definitely not portraying a changed man, but a man who has undertaken a journey. He still, as ever, withholds his loveable bantering cockney charm, passion of his own art, and demonstrates both confidence and vulnerability in all he does.
