Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes you along 7.5kms of pure rainforest in comfortable six-person gondolas that glide just metres above the rainforest canopy providing spectacular views of not just the rainforest, but also tropical Cairns, the Coral Sea and the Cairns Highlands. Whilst aboard Skyrail, your time also includes time at two stations.
Your first stop is Red Peak Station, where Skyrail’s Rangers provide a guided boardwalk tour, sharing their knowledge of the ancient tropical forests amongst giant buttress roots, towering Kauri Pines
and climbing wait-a-while palms.
The second stop is Barron Falls Station, which has easy access walkways to three separate lookout points providing breathtaking views of the Barron Gorge and Falls. Here you can also visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre that Skyrail developed in conjunction with CSIRO to provide an informative and fun learning experience.
The meeting point for the Djabugay Aboriginal Guided Tour is also found at the Interpretation
Centre. This experience provides a fascinating insight into the Aboriginal history, language, culture, stories and traditions of the indigenous rainforest people through a personalised, small group on a natural rainforest trail.
