Kakadu Unleashed
Available until October, Kakadu Wild Expeditions has opened up Australia’s biggest national park with the 3 Day Kakadu Unleashed, a camping adventure that’s all kinds of awesome.
Leaving Darwin, you will traverse with your tour group through the outback terrain of the Northern Territory until you reach Kakadu National Park. Greeted by the Limilngan-Wulna people, the traditional owners of the land, you’ll discover all about their traditions of basket weaving and spear throwing, before embarking on a billabong cruise of the Mary River wetlands to spot wild saltwater crocodiles. You’ll get to see your first Kakadu sunset in Ubirr, before setting down for the night at camp.
On day two, you’ll enjoy the thrill of a 4WD to Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls, where you’ll get to explore gorges, relax on the sandy banks or take a swim in the beautiful waters for an entire afternoon. This highlight of the park is not to be rushed, so enjoy the scenery before you head back in your 4WD for your next night at a bush camp.
On your third and final day of this spectacular snapshot of Kakadu, it’s time to escape from the
heat once again with a dip in the plunge pools of Maguk, before working up a sweat on the hike
to the breathtaking Gunlom Falls, where you’re rewarded with a swim in the waterhole. In the
afternoon, you make your way back to Darwin, just in time for a night out in the tropical city.
This tour includes two breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners, an experienced guide and national park entry fees. Needless to say, it gets hot in Kakadu, so pack a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, swimwear, towel and a water bottle.
This wild three-day tour costs $545pp. Want to add Litchfield National Park to your trip? The 3 Day Kakadu & Litchfield Tour costs from $695pp and runs all year round. So, when are you going?
