Kali Uchis Premiers New Music Video
Columbian singer Kali Uchis drops new video.
Directed by herself, Uchis explains what her influences were: ”I was inspired by fake love, Edie Sedgwick, Nancy Sinatra and Calle 13. The video speaks on how disposable and replaceable ‘lovers’ are treated and the things we will say or do out of loneliness.”
The latest video includes appearances from Steve Lacy and Vince Staples. Full of seductive scenes, the video mixes California in the 60s and modern day. Using men as chairs and having an army of women dressed as her dancing in the street, the experimental songstress is adding even more excitement to the world of RnB.
A whirlwind 2015 found her touring North America with Leon Bridges, releasing her critically-acclaimed project Por Vida, starring in a campaign for British designer Sophia Webster and much more.
Uchis has released “Drunken Babble” (2013) and “Por Vida” (2915), featuring production from Diplo, Kaytranada and BADBADNOTGOOD. Further collaborations include work with Major Lazer, Snoop Dogg, and Tyler, The Creator.
Kali Uchis is currently recording her debut album.
