
Lake Malawi Latest Single Chinese Trees
Fans of Bon Iver will have their ears perk up when they hear the name of the latest project by Albert Cerny (of Charlie Straight fame) called Lake Malawi. Lake Malawi will be closing out a busy and productive 2014 with the release of the group’s latest single, Chinese Trees.
The track has been recorded/co-produced by Matt Lawrence (Mumford & Sons) and sees the group taking a leaf out of the books of other vocally focused artists like Lykke Li and Passion Pit.
Chinese Trees begins with a verse backed by staccato keyboard notes and has this effervescent energy surrounding it, while seeming very minimal in its song writing. It’s one of those rare pieces of music that breathes life into you as you listen, giving the track a very melodic and authentic quality.
Lake Malawi has definitely already cemented itself as one of the fastest growing indie-pop outfits and is certainly a band to keep watch on in 2015. Chinese Trees is available for sale and download now but you can listen below:
