Market Club is a free music, art and sport event for the leading East London Arts Centre, Rich Mix, that will brighten up your Sunday.
Market Club has so far enjoyed sets from Noisettes, Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and some amazing live music from Africa Unsigned’s Rina Mushonga and Nick Mulvey. In addition to the globetrotting musical offerings each month Market Club attendees have been trying out a new Olympic sport – from teams battling it out on rowing machines to GB Fencers challenging each other to a duel!
In September Market Club says goodbye to the Summer and is all set to give everyone heading to the Lake of Stars festival in Malawi a big send off, with some exciting live music and DJ sets
Colin MacIntyre – MacIntyre hails from the Isle of Mull off Scotland’s west coast. To date MacIntyre has achieved 4 UK Top 40 Chart hit Singles, and 2 Top 20 Albums and has been awarded Scotland’s Top Creative Talent Award. Previewing ‘City Awakenings’, his new Mull Historical Society album, and 6th in total, now available to Pre-order. The album will be released on Xtra Mile Recordings this October.
Tres B produces a swirling mix of central African folk, hip hop and soul. After participating in a range of the Roundhouse’s music programmes for 11-25s, he was signed to Roundhouse Records in June last year and has since supported The Black Keys and been nominated for Best Male UK based Afro/Caribbean Act of 2010 at the BEFFTA Awards. His debut EP Best Friend launched as part of the Roundhouse Rising Festival in February. ‘Best Friend’ can be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon. Huw StephensHuw Stephens is a Radio 1 DJ with a passion for uncovering new music & talent. He also runs his own live music nights in London as well as hosting his weekly BBC Introducing Radio 1 podcast; more outlets for the new music he champions. His shows have been broadcast from South by South West in Texas, Sonar in Barcelona and Green Man in Crickhowell. Huw has travelled to Reykjavik, New Zealand, Nashville, Los Angeles and Manchester to seek out and reflect the new music in these places.Huw has been nominated twice for a Bafta Cymru award in the Best On Screen Presenter category for S4C music programme Bandit.
