Responsibilities

• Lead the Android App Development team, responsible for the development and maintenance of applications on the Android platform.
• We are looking for a Lead Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications on the Android platform.
• Your primary focus will be to guide the development of mobile applications using your experience to innovatively design applications and integrate with back-end services.
• You will be working with a dedicated team of engineers and developers delivering cutting edge digital products and services in an agile environment.
• Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, attention to detail and creating quality products is essential.
• As a Lead developer, you will also be required to impart your skills and guide / mentor other Android developers in your team.
• Collaborate with a team of highly experienced engineers to develop mobile solutions
  Translate designs and wireframes into high quality apps
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java, C++ and open GL code
• Design for performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Conduct peer review of code developed by team members
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation including CI/CD setup
• Assist with distribution of Apps via Beta Store and Hockey App

Candidate Experience

• At least 7 years’ experience as a senior Android developer, with some time spent as a Lead Developer
• Experience working in a fully agile software development environment using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK
• Sound understanding of strategies for dealing with different screen sizes, devices and OS versions
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
• Familiarity with the use of sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Proficient understanding of tools, such as Bitbucket, Jira, Bamboo, SonarQube
• Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery and test-driven development.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Android Security, and technologies such as PKI, OAUTH, Tokens etc.
• Highly collaborative, can-do approach, within and outside the immediate teams.
