Aussie dream-pop trio LeØ have released their latest single ‘Hold On’, giving us a taste of what we can expect from these guys in 2016.
The Brisbane Band began writing an early-version of ‘Hold On’ back in 2014 while singer Chloe Pilkington was still in her graduate year. She decided it was good enough to show the two boys in the band (Callum MacDonald & Joshua Black), they instantly fell in love with it and were eager to get into the studio and start working on it straight away.
A few months later and LeØ applied the final touches and called it ‘Hold On’. This week they are sharing it with the rest of us. The song opens up with Chloe’s angelic voice seeping out heartfelt emotion with each word she sings. The vocals flow on top of an assembly of warbling synths, whispery guitar echoes and a classic indie-folk beat. Once the song hits the chorus the folk vibe is replaced by dream-pop sounds that are kept company by Chloe’s powerful words that seem to really come from somewhere within.
This track showcases the raw talent that these three possess. With previous songs like ‘The Wolf’ and ‘Linger’ pushing them into the public eye, ‘Hold On’ looks like the single that has fully announced LeØ as band to watch out for in 2016. Expect big things to come from these three.
