Let Them Eat Cake 2016 Local Line-Up

As well as bringing international DJs and producers to the grounds of Werribee Mansion in Victoria, including Ben UFO, Daniel Avery, Jon Hopkins and Motor City Drum Ensemble, Let Them Eat Cake will showcase some of Melbourne’s greatest acts on New Year’s Day 2016.

The local line-up is not to be ignored. Not only could you discover the next best thing to come out of Melbourne, they will no doubt make your Let Them Eat Cake festival experience that much better.

Names to look out for include:

Andras & Oscar

A house music duo that have seen considerable solo success, Oscar provides the vocals while Andras creates the intriguing grooves through the use of cassette players, dub delays and disposable keyboards, for a deep but playful result.

Harvey Sutherland

From behind the scenes comes Harvey Sutherland, an analog synthesist from Melbourne’s buzzing underground. With an improv show combining 808 rattle and double-disco-clap, he’ll be bouncing and sweating along with the LTEC crowd.

Kllo

Simon Lam and Chloe Kaul have kept it in the family. The Melbourne cousins came onto the global scene following debut EP ‘Cusp’, with their first single ‘Make Me Wonder’ even being recognised by BBC Radio 1. Ranked as Ones To Watch in 2015 on Spotify, you can do just that when they play at Let Them Eat Cake 2016.

Fantastic Man

He’s not lying; Fantastic Man is all kinds of good with his unique mash-up of house and techno. Producing on Let’s Play House and Wolf Music, as well as featuring on DJ Kicks compilations, he’s championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson and Larry Heard, and has previously been booked to play Fabric London and Watergate Berlin.

LUCIANBLOMKAMP

Classic, polished and engaging, Blomkamp experiments with electronic production. About to release his second studio album following on from 2014’s ‘Post-Nature’, he’s played at Splendour in the Grass, Strawberry Fields and Secret Garden Festival, and he’ll show what he can really do at LTEC this New Year’s Day.
