Live Review: The Soundwave, Scala, London
The BBM Live team decided they’d get in the festival mood ahead of schedule and head on down to The Soundwave Festival Reunion at Scala, Kings Cross, London.
What can we say…first of all Scala still remains, to this day, a great venue and for those of you not familiar to the area, it’s pretty hard to miss with its huge neon sign pointing you in the right direction.
Scala is a bit like a maze, with stairs leading here there and everywhere, but you always find your self coming out somewhere where you’ll find some banging tunes no matter what.
The Reunion party for Soundwave Festival held earlier this year in Croatia started off chilled with few people there. The majority of people were hanging out chatting at the main bar you first come to, getting themselves ready for a night of partying. However by 12:30am the main room began to get pumping with a few people sauntering onto the dance floor. The music was great and included a line up of Hip-hop, Electronica and Dubstep, plus live performances that previously played at this year’s Soundwave Festival including Mr Thing & Yungun, Scrimshire, DJ Cheeba, Riot Jazz, Frameworks and Renegard Brass Band, providing something for everyone’s tastes.
With everyone in good spirits it certainly provided a strong case to make sure you attend Soundwave Croatia 2013. So count BBM in, we’ll be there with bells on next year!
