Local Talent At Melbourne International Comedy Festival
There will be comedians from all over the world attending Melbourne International Comedy Festival this year, but you should also take note of the local talent hitting the stages. The following three acts are brilliantly unique and hilarious, representing Melbourne’s comic geniuses.
Miss Itchy
Chaotic and absurd, the outrageous comedy duo that is Miss Itchy will be returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with Lazy Susan. Miss Gerda and Miss Candy-Girl are renowned as Australia’s French & Saunders, crediting themselves as “Melbourne’s only identical twin teenage bridesmaids”, with more filth than you shake a dirty stick at.
Miss Itchy will be at the Tuxedo Cat from Thursday 26th March.
Dolly Diamond
Cabaret comedienne, Dolly Diamond, is The Real Queen of Moomba – or so she reckons. Hungry for adulation and power, she is determined to be crowned the bonafide title, and will make sure that the people of Melbourne choose the right queen: her.
Dolly Diamond, The Real Queen of Moomba will be at the Trades Hall in Carlton from Tuesday 7th April.
Avenue Q
Watch a puppet show with a difference when the Trifle Theatre Company does its own version of Sesame Street. Avenue Q is a naughty parody packed with heart and laugh-out-loud moments that you wouldn’t usually expect from a musical theatre show. Definitely not for innocent eyes, this will be a great performance with a group of friends.
Avenue Q will be at Chapel Off Chapel in Prahran from Friday 27th March.
