LOOKING AHEAD CLOUD CONTROL 2 JUNE-19 JUNE Regular readers of BBM’s singles reviews will know that a review of ‘it’s alright’ is tantamount to high praise in the grotty offices we wallow in.
It’s with great pleasure then that, after listening to Sydney band Cloud Control’s debut album Bliss Release, we can say ‘it’s alright’.
From the opening track of Meditation Song, the album’s melodic guitars and ethereal vocals put you right at ease. It’s not culture-changing music. Nor is it strikingly original. But songs like Gold Canary, which at first annoyed us a lot, are definite growers, while This Is What We Said is instantly likeable and should sung around a camp fire while toasting marshmallows.
According to reports, Cloud Control have a solid reputation for their live show too, so this could be worth a shout.
