Lord Huron, What Mumford And Sons Could’ve Been

Follow us on Google News

Lord Huron, fronted by Ben Schneider from Michigan, are the band Mumford and Sons could have been.

Their sound, although coming from the same roots, has so much more than simply being that of another indie-folk band. It is much more difficult to define. They use subtle psychedelic elements to create a guitar sound straight out of 60s/70s American folk-rock which, coupled with the slightly echoed vocal track, creates a sound with surprising depth for what is essentially folk.

Their debut album ‘Lonesome Dreams’ is indication that Lord Huron seem to know what they’re doing. Standout tracks ‘Time To Run’ and ‘She Lit A Fire’ are instructions on how to make indie-folk interesting again. ‘Lonesome Dreams’ is available to buy now and is well worth a listen. Some previous EP releases, ‘Mighty’ and ‘Into The Sun’ can also be found on the Bandcamp page.
