MASHD N KUTCHER – DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' [UMA]

Part DJ’s, part live instrumentalists, this keyboard and drummer duo from Brisbane Australia, have cemented their name as one of the most prominent Australian electronic music acts of recent years.  Three short years after they began, Mashd N Kutcher became one of the most talked about acts in the industry, consistently touring across: Australia, Asia, New Zealand, North America, South America and Europe.  From multiple DJ Mag Top100 clubs, to international festivals such as: Ultra Music Festival, s20 and Electric Love Festival, Mashd N Kutcher have now amassed a whopping 700+ live shows.
Their music has been keeping Australia’s airwaves busy with Platinum and Gold selling singles: ‘My Sunshine’ – becoming the #1 Most Played record on Australian Radio in February and hitting Top 5 on iTunes multiple times.

What’s your name and what do you?
We are a pianist and drummer DJ duo who together make Mashd N Kutcher
What kind of music do you play?
We like to play as many different genres in a set as possible! Metal, RNB, Trap and Hardstyle to name a few.
What would you say is your biggest influence?
Due to our backgrounds, we are influenced by many weird and wonderful musicians… Everyone from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Parkway Drive to Skrillex!
Where’s the best club you’ve ever played?
We always love playing at the Met in our hometown of Brisbane. Having said that, we have also had the pleasure of playing at Bootshaus in Cologne and that is something else.
And the best festival?
Our best festival/s to date would be a combination of Electric Love in Salzburg and S20 in Bangkok.
Where’s the most unique festival you’ve been to and what was so special?
Both those festivals were incredible in their own right – S20 has giant water guns and Electric Love has a European crowd – can’t go wrong!
What was the most difficult festival you ever went to and was it worth it?
Every show we play is worth it, but some require a lot more travel than others to get to… That’s where it can get difficult.
Where’s your hometown?
We’re from Brisbane, Australia!
What’s your favorite local bar/restaurant/bar/club? 
There’s a whole bunch of cool new bars opening up in Brisbane! Some of which we like to visit on a Sunday depending how we feel after the weekend…. 😉
Where’s your favourite clubbing destination?
I think we can both say Mykonos. We’ve never been and it’s a serious bucket list place both personally and professionally.
Is there something you can’t travel without?
Our passports. And power adaptors. And socks and jocks.
What travel destination would you recommend our readers add to their bucket list?
Absolutely everywhere you can. We don’t get to do all that much sightseeing when we travel for shows but we have definitely gained a serious perspective as to how important travelling and getting out of your comfort zone can be.
Where was the most surprising place you discovered a big musical influence?
There was a club in Croatia that had 4 separate rooms – each with different genres – and that was pretty awesome. Every now and then you’ll stumble across some dude in a hotel lobby just playing absolute heaters. That’s what music is all about! The fun and unexpected.
Where can we see you play over the next few months?
Over the next few months you can catch us back in Aus, but also through Asia and America! We’ll be back in Europe next summer for sure.
