Mauritius Sailing Holidays
Are you already thinking about getting out of the UK before winter truly sets in? We’re pleased to announce a jam-packed sailing adventure lies before you.
Basking in paradise and dipping in and out of the Indian Ocean sounds just about perfect, so why not book a Mauritius sailing holiday. Sailing company Wildwind can take you on an amazing adventure, around the coast of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean with prices starting at just £735pp, including a complimentary island tour.
Wildwind has launched its winter and spring programme at its new sailing and water sports centre in Mauritius. Initially opened under a pilot scheme in January 2014, the new centre is now one of only two RYA**-recognised sailing centres in the Indian Ocean.
If you’ve got a sense of adventure and are continually looking for a challenge then the team and Wildwind will make damn sure you learn how to sail, or you can even work to improve existing sailing skills. Founder of Wildwind, Simon Morgan, says on the trip, “We are one of only a handful of UK tour operators that offer holidays in the sun during the UK winter months where clients can learn to sail, or improve existing sailing skills, on our diverse fleet of state-of-the-art dinghies and catamarans.
“We’ve had great feedback from the lucky clients who have already visited our Mauritius centre and we’re very proud to officially launch this year’s new winter and spring programme.”
With an impressive reputation for high quality sailing holidays in Lefkas, Greece, Wildwind’s new location is in Mont Choisy, on the north-west coast of Mauritius. During the trip you can experience a wealth of activities to suit everyone from sun worshippers to adrenaline junkies.
Upon reaching Mont Choisy, you’ll find two sailing spots with steady trade winds. The inner bay is protected making it an ideal place for beginners to try their hand at sailing, whilst those looking for speed can get this just outside of the reef.
If you’re looking to try something new, then you can even dabble in a spot of windsurfing or paddle boarding, or upgrade your programme to include an island tour on a large catamaran with snorkelling and a taster scuba session included, or even a hike through the tropical rainforests of Mauritius to see the cascading waterfalls – including a trip to the famed local run factory, Rhumerie De Chamarel, to sample some ‘liquid sunshine’.
With lessons for all sailing and watersports available daily, this is the perfect holiday for any waterbaby.
