Maya Jane Coles From The Dark

The tour de force to hit dance music this year, Maya Jane Coles, is back with her brand new release on Mobilee ‘From The Dark’.

The three-track EP kicks off with an infectious electronic dance beat from the title track, with impressive layering in its production, and Roisin Murphy-esque vocals. With an exceptional element of cool, this track is just what you could expect to hear at the likes of an underground London project space.

It’s been three and a half year’s since Coles last release on Mobilee, ‘Beat Faster’, which saw the UK DJ and producer hit the main stages at some of the World’s greatest festivals and clubs from 2012 to this summer.

The second track on the EP ‘I Would Fly’ feels more like a filler as samples, blips, and dreamy loops build together to form a hypnotic trance of a track. And following form, the third track, ‘Will I Make It Home’ very much creates a resolve to the release.

Coles says of the release, “I’m excited to be releasing on Mobilee again. It was one of the labels I looked up to when I first started making electronic music and I still remember how chuffed I was when Anja agreed to put out my first EP on the label. It was about time I did another one and it feels just as good :).”
