Mercury Prize 2013 Nominations Announced
It’s that time of year again where music fans and curious onlookers will be checking out the nominations for the Mercury Prize 2013. The twelve artists that have been nominated range from the most popular Drum ‘n Bass artists to the more lyrical soul-searchers.
In the race for the prize with their albums are:
James Blake – ‘Overgrown’
David Bowie – ‘The Next Day’
Arctic Monkeys – ‘AM’
Disclosure – ‘Settle’
Jake Bugg – ‘Jake Bugg’
John Hopkins – ‘Immunity’
Foals – ‘Holy Fire’
Laura Marling – ‘Once I Was An Eagle’
Rudimental – ‘Home’
Laura Mvula – ‘Sing To The Moon’
Savages – ‘Silence Yourself’
Villagers – ‘{Awayland}’
Our favourites are definitely Disclosure, Arctic Monkeys and Foals. Whilst Surrey duo Disclosure give us something to dance to, the confidence and sensuous guitar sounds of Arctic Monkeys will probably have us cooing for the rest of the year.
We’ll find out who wins the £20,000 Barclaycard Mercury Prize in October. Watch this space!
