Missy Higgins To Headline Gorgeous Festival

Missy Higgins will headline Gorgeous Festival this November with special guest Gurrumul.

This follows Missy’s recent totally sold out tour of more intimate theatres and last week’s US launch of her album ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’.

Despite it being five years between releases ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ debuted at #1 in Australia following its release at the beginning of June and the album is still in the top 10 two months later. Missy’s headlining performance at the Gorgeous Festival is the only South Australian show on her upcoming national tour.

Missy will be joined by special guest Gurrumul,whose unforgettably emotive voice has struck a deep chord with audiences across the globe, and earned him celebrity fans like will.I.am and Sting. Gurrumul’s history with Missy includes a moving duet of ‘Warwu’ at the 2011 ARIA Awards where Missy performed in Gurrumul’s native tongue.

Gorgeous Festival has one of the most picturesque settings in which to enjoy music, premium wines and fresh local produce while appreciating the arts and culture of the vicinity. The 2012 festival will be held on Saturday 24 November, with tickets on sale Thursday 9 August.

Missy said that she’s “really looking forward” to playing at Gorgeous Festival and added: “I’m stoked to be headlining, I’ll be bringing my Nashville band over as it will coincide with my national summer tour, so it’ll be a great show.”
