MK Set To Push The Feeling With Four Dates
Detroit’s remix king, MK AKA Marc Kinchen heads to Australia next month to play a four show tour around the country.
Despite his roots firmly planted in Detroit, MK’s musical path is made up of seamless transitions from his origins in house and techno to hip-hop and R&B and ultimately pop which saw him work with Will Smith, Quincy Jones, Diane Warren, Tyrese, Brandy, and Pitbull to name a few. It wasn’t until a chance connection with Jamie Jones and Lee Boss in recent years that saw his return to house music.
After working with techno legends in his home city, MK cemented himself as the go-to-guy for killer club mixes, partly thanks to the unprecendeted success of his remix of ‘Push The Feeling On’ for The Nightcrawlers.
Fast forward to today, MK has an impressive discography and continues to find success with his remixes, most notably his remix of ‘Look Right Through’ by Storm Queen in 2013 which made it to the #1 spot in the UK singles chart and his remix of Emma Louise & Wanklemut’s ‘My Head is a Jungle’ in the same year which then arguably became the sound of summer 2014.
With his long awaited album set for imminent release, MK has re-launched his iconic label and event brand Area10 and has been touring at festivals across the UK and North America this year. His Australian tour begins on Thursday 17th November at Brown Alley Melbourne with a date in Brisbane on Friday 18th November at the TBC Club, Sydney on Saturday 19th November at Habourlife Festival and finishing off at Deep in the Valley in Perth on Sunday 20th November.
