Moonlight Cinema Launches In Sydney
Moonlight Cinema kickstarted the summer cinema season in style with a cool, hip and relaxed outdoor picnic and sneak preview of what’s to come.
Based in the centre of Martin Place, a prime location, was a pop up picnic spot with flower screen, grass, parasols and their very own new LA style food truck. Keen passers-by, corporates on their lunch break, and industry attendees flocked the area.
With an extreme air of summer, the moment you sat down on the grass you got immersed in the screen previewing movie trailers both classic and new, and with a box of chicken wings and churros in your hand, you soon realised this is something you need to experience over the summer, and soon!
The picnic transported onlookers out of the bustle of the CBD and into an oasis of calm summer with friends, family, or a date, to take a step back, enjoy good food, and soak up a classic movie or two. From Top Gun to Dirty dancing, Penguins of Madagascar to The Shawshank Redemption, there is something on the screening list for everyone.
Full of talking points with smart and quirky ways to attract onlookers, a unique idea came in the way of tag snaps – a flower board photo drop where sharing photos of the Moonlight Cinema event on Instagram, guests could get instant ‘Polaroid style’ photos printed to mark the memory on the spot. A good move to both attract people and boost social media frenzy!
You needed only take a quick glance to know that Moonlight Cinema is a must for the summer, and with tickets at only $15, it’s going to be a major hit!
Moonlight Cinema will be held at Centennial Park from 11th December until 29th March. Head to www.moonlight.com.au/sydney to check out the program.
