Nathan Carter Australian Tour The golden guy of the Irish charts, Nathan Carter is making his way over to Australia this November for 4 date national tour, so we caught up with him to see what he has in store!
Hi Nathan, how are you?
I’m in great form, and looking forward to my trip to Australia!
Nathan Carter Australian Tour Where are you right now and how is it?
I’ve just returned from a day in the recording studio – it’s a lovely evening in Ennsikllen County Fermangh, where I live.
Nathan Carter Australian Tour We’re really looking forward to seeing you Down Under, aside from touring, what else do you hope to get up to whilst in Australia?
I’m looking forward to checking out the beaches and the surfing. I’m a massive fan of water sports. And I love getting out on the boat when I can!
What are the three things you can’t leave home without when you’re touring?
Oh it’s got to be…my phone, my accordion, and a toothbrush . I guess…
Where’s the most interesting country your career has taken you to?
We’ve played a festival in France a few months ago, that was pretty cool, I love travelling really.
Being influenced by country and western music, who are your a few of your favourite artists?
I’m a massive fan of Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, and Brad Paisley.
For someone visiting Ireland what would you say is the best thing to see?
The lovely lakes and mountains in Ireland are just beautiful – also I love Dublin and Belfast.
Staying Up All Night came out earlier this year, what’s the reaction been like to the album and where have you been touring it?
The album’s got to no. 1 in Ireland, and we’ve been touring the album in Ireland and the UK, and it’s been great.
What did you want to put across with the album overall?
This album contains quite a few of my own songs, and I’m really happy with the result.
What’s your favourite track on the album and why?
Liverpool is a song. That’s very close to my heart. It’s about growing up in my hometown…it brings a tear to the eye…
Do you have any rituals before you go on stage?
I do some voice exercises that my band colleagues often comment on… it seems to work though!
What’s on your rider?
Water, crisps, and Haribos, and some chocolate!
You’re fairly busy with touring, do you ever write music whilst you’re on the road?
Yes, I try to write when I can, and you never know when a song idea comes along, so I’m always w writing down song ideas when I can…
Thanks for your time and we look forward to seeing you in Australia!
I’m really looking forward to my first visit to Australia. I can’t wait!
