New EP From Oceaán The Grip
We’re pleased to announce the new EP from Oceaán The Grip…
The totally infectious producer Oceaán is back with ‘Grip’, a track that will truly make you want to get to a dancefloor in a dingy cool underground club as soon as you hear it taken from his forthcoming EP ‘The Grip’.
With thumping bass that pounces and thuds throughout and quippy samples and zooms ‘Grip’ is a premier example of Oceaán’s masterful production skills.
Following the release of new track ‘Grip’, the Manchester-via-Brussels producer has announced a brand new EP – ‘The Grip’ EP – set for release 17th November on Chess Club Records.
With his effortlessly unique brand of electronic pop, Oceaán’s self-titled debut EP saw its protagonist, Oliver Cean, thrust into the spotlight piquing the interest of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe as well as online tastemakers such as FADER, Dazed and Confused, Electronic Beats and many more.
“I wanted to explore the duality between lyrical context and conceptual production. Taking influences from many facets of electronic music, my main aim was to investigate the effectiveness of songwriting within the electronic plane – whether it be marrying a lyrical concept with similar tonal aspects (inherently present within the production), and more importantly, creating and displaying disparity between them.”
To coincide with the announcement, you can watch a brand new video for ‘Grip’, directed by Harvey Pearson (Aquilo, Låplsley, Rhye), below.
