Jack Froggatt, the transcendent voice behind the Grammy-nominated indie electronic trio Mansionair, proudly introduces his new solo project, ELMAR, with the release of the debut single ‘Beneath My Skin’. 

Crafted with the soothing tides and vast power of the surf coast in mind, ‘Beneath My Skin’ immerses listeners in a world where smooth electronic beats and folk melodies ebb and flow like the ocean itself. Co-produced by Jack and long-time collaborator Ross James (Upsidedownhead), the single marks the beginning of a deeply personal and introspective journey for ELMAR.

Jack shares, “caved up in my inner city apartment before the idea of starting the ELMAR project existed, I wrote a guitar line that sparked memories of the ocean, of surfing, and carefree camping trips with friends. That guitar line turned into ‘Beneath My Skin’ – a song about laying down old habits, feelings and beliefs, in hope for something new. A song about following a thread that’s telling you there’s a place beyond where you are that’s calling your name.”

ELMAR represents a new chapter in Jack’s artistic evolution. Born out of a desire to reconnect with his own musical vision, ELMAR is more than just a project—it’s a sanctuary, a place where Jack can escape the noise and rediscover the joy of creation. The name itself, ELMAR, is a nod to both Ernest Hemingway’s ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ and the iconic Café Del Mar compilations, drawing inspiration from Jack’s lifelong love of the ocean and surfing culture.

Over the years, Jack has garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including a Grammy nomination and multiple Gold records for his work with Mansionair and collaborations with Odesza, Dom Dolla, and Rezident. Now, with ELMAR, he steps into the spotlight with a sound that is distinctly his own—one that is steeped in reflection and bathed in sunlight. With more music and collaborations on the horizon, this new venture promises to captivate fans both old and new.
