Australian visa applicants who are interested to have an in-depth look at the TOEFL iBT® test, together with their migration agents, now have the option to enrol in the new Massive Open Online Course (or MOOC), which is hosted by edX. The MOOC is a one of a kind opportunity for the applicant to be able to prepare for the TOEFL iBT test and improve his or her English language skills which a lot of institutions in Australia such as immigration agencies, universities, and professional bodies, just to name a few, are looking for in an applicant.

The ‘TOEFL Test Preparation: The Insider’s Guide’ is a course designed by the virtuosos who designed and developed the TOEFL test themselves. The course is going to last for 6 weeks and will start on Monday, the 13th of June 2016. A different aspect of the test is going to be tackled each week, and a general introduction will take place on the 1st week, followed by a week for each of the 4 skills included in the test – reading, listening, speaking, and writing. It will conclude on the 6th week with a lot of helpful tips as well as a test-day information.

The course offers a number of short lectures. This includes the ‘Inside the TOEFL test’ videos for all of the question types as well as sample questions from the past tests. These include answers and explanations already. The team that created that made the TOEFL test is going to review a number of responses during the Speaking and Writing weeks so they can give their 2 cents worth so they can provide meaningful feedback and evaluation. You, as a participant, are also going to have the chance to meet other students from around the world, as well as share valuable information with them through the various discussion boards.

All the time you need to commit to the Massive Open Online Course is just 2 hours each week. There is no fee for the course however, you can still opt to sign up for a verified certificate which will show as proof of the skills and knowledge you have acquired upon your completion of the MOOC.

If you would like to access the site, just click on this link https://www.ets.org/toefl/insidersguide to enrol. It can be accessed through a computer or a mobile device.
