Nick Black New Track Luxor

Atmospheric East London-based rapper/producer Nick Black has unveiled the first track from his new mixtape ‘SMBS’ (Select Music By Steering) set to drop 1st June.

To announce the news the rapper just unveiled a free download of ‘Luxor’ featuring London rapper Stinkin Slumrok, who has been making heads recently working with producers like 7th Dan, Morriarchi and Sam Zircon.

Nick said of the track: “Slumrok and I have known each other for years and were recording a joint project which doesn’t have a name yet. I liked ‘Luxor’ and thought it fitted the sound of ‘SMBS’.” This sound is a dark, drunken 60bpm cut, with twisted, distorted sounds and a swaggering bassline.

We can expect more of the same on ‘SMBS’, as Nick explains: “One of the first things I consider is the atmosphere of the song. I want the listener to be immersed in my world. I really enjoy dark, dark shit…making beats sound evil.” As well as ‘SMBS’, we can hope to hear more from Nick in his project with Slumrok, as well as in a forthcoming mixtape from Nick’s group FlickaDotCircus this summer.
