Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival 2015
From 21st – 24th May, the Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival will mark the 2015 whale shark season in Exmouth, when the largest fish in the ocean descends upon the waters of the coast of Western Australia.
An annual event, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the World Heritage status of the Ningaloo Marine Park and Cape Range National Park, with a fun run, circus performances, live music, beach games and art. This year, Morgan Bain, ‘Fingers’ Mitchell Cullen, The Sunshine Brothers and James Abberley will be entertaining the crowds all weekend, while Friday night’s Opening Festival Gala is a great excuse to dress up with a glass of wine and listen to some music.
As well as land activities, there will also be opportunities to book whale shark tours so you can get up close with them in the water. With special discounts on Sunday, there’s no reason not to dive straight in! You can learn more about these beautiful and peaceful giants from scientists conducting local whale shark research, and discover why their conservation is important.
