North West Festival 2015

Some of the best Australian artists will head to the Pilbara region this August for North West Festival. After the success of 2014’s debut weekend edition, it will be taking over Port Hedland Turf Club on Friday 21^st and Saturday 22^nd August, and Port Hedland Civic Centre Gardens on Sunday 23^rd August for the Sunday Sundowner. This is a great excuse to travel to this beautiful part of Australia.
With camping, bars, food stalls, activities and live music, North West Festival brings the Pilbara region alive with thousands of festivalgoers. This year will be no different, with artists from all genres taking to the stage. Headlining will be alternative rock group, Birds Of Tokyo, following an amazing year touring the USA and recently releasing their latest EP, ‘Anchor’. Electronic Dance duo, Peking Duk, will no doubt be on fire when they take to the stage on the Saturday, while folk brother and sister, Angus & Julia Stone will be taking things down a notch for a more chilled out session. Also on the line-up are Perth MC, Drapht, Melbourne rapper, Seth Sentry, and garage rock band, British India. With many more great acts set to perform, it’s going to be a long weekend of amazing Australian music.
In the outback town of Port Hedland, North West Festival will be providing camping accommodation for two-day, Saturday, and Golden Weekender ticket-holders included in the price of your ticket. If you travel by car, you can set up your tent right beside it, while campervans and caravans have a separate area. You can bring your own food, but you can’t bring your own alcohol into the festival site or the campground. However, there will be bars serving your favourite drinks both alcoholic and otherwise. If you don’t fancy camping, there is some accommodation in Port Hedland, and North West Festival ticket-holders will be able to enjoy discounted rates, but get in quick because it will book up!
One of the best things about North West Festival is the journey you can take to get to it. Make a road trip of it starting in Perth and visit areas like the Pinnacles Desert, Monkey Mia, Coral Bay and the Ningaloo Reef, before enjoying up to three days of music and fun in the outback of Australia.
