Black Comedy
Simple, fresh and raw, the Black comedy gives you a different take on conventional comedy. Although technically an amateur performance, there is something new about this show that draws the audience to its doors. If you are in Darwin between 14th and 18th November keep a day free for some hearty laughs. This performance is presented by the Darwin Theatre Company, directed by Tony Rives and co hosted by the well known Brown Mart Theatre.
Monsoon Markets
If you find yourself in Darwin during the wet season, do not fret about the shopping opportunities. A favourite among both locals and foreigners alike is the monsoon market which falls every Thursday from November all the way till April. From refreshing hot food, exciting craft stalls to entertainment that stretches through the evening, shopping here is a great way to brighten those gloomy days. The market is open from 5pm till 10pm in Trower Road at the Rapid Creek shopping Center.
Marrara Christmas Craft Fair
Let the Christmas spirit come alive! The Marrara Indoor stadium at the Abalaa Road Marrara has an interesting Christmas craft fair that is held on the 25th and 26th of November from 9am until 4pm. The 130 stalls featured here is nothing short of paradise for the craft lover and showcases everything from Christmas crafts to a whole load of unique and authentic locally created products perfect for those looking for souvenirs to take back home. For just $2 exploring this fair is totally worth it.
Carols by candle light
What better way to welcome the most celebrated festival of the calendar than by coming together as one with carols on the lips. Hosted on the Botanic gardens amphitheatre on Christmas eve between 6.30 and 8.30pm, this event has a magical feel to it for the curtains close with an elaborate fireworks display that illuminates the sky.
