One To Watch: Jetta

Liverpool-born, London-based songstress, Jetta, has lived and breathed music from a young age. Taking her parents’ influence as musicians, her first gig in a hometown bar transported her to a world where she ended up backing the likes of Paloma Faith and Cee Lo Green, before releasing ‘Start A Riot’.

Her soulful wail paired with unashamed Pop and shimmers of Soul has seen her sign to major labels on both sides of the Atlantic – LAVA/Republic Records in the United States and Polydor in the UK. Similar to the likes of Florence Welch, The XX and Adele, it’s no wonder she’s been making waves underground and quickly risen into the mainstream. Jetta released the much talked-about ‘Crescendo EP’ just this month, which is expected to see her rise even further into the spotlight.

Touring the UK alongside John Newman in October 2014, Jetta is well on her way to stardom. With her wild hair, addictive tones and hypnotic stage presence, there’s no doubt that she fits the role. She claims that if she weren’t doing this, she’d be an astronaut. Thank God she chose music.
