One To Watch: NoMBe
NoMBe, or Noah McBeth, a 23 year-old German singer who relocated to LA in 2013, is grabbing everybody’s attention turning his hand to producing a number of artists alongside working on his own signature sound.
Formerly producing under the name RookieTheCook, NoMBe is making a new name for himself these days releasing his debut EP Change of Hearts last year. His unique sounds stands apart from anything you are currently hearing with each track being completely distinct. Influenced by boom bap and trip hop artists including Nujabes, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and Quantic… the classically trained pianist blends indie and soul with a hint of hip-hop.
Following the overwhelming success of his recent single, ‘California Girls’, the multi-talented producer returns with a new track ‘Kemosabe’ in which he continues to prove his penchant for crafting genre-bending music. With his lyrics often touching on rough, true-to-life topics such as shady women, drunk uncles and loose morals, ‘Kemosabe’ was inspired by the lingering resentment that follows a break-up.
NoMBE is currently touring in the U.S. and enjoying performing his material on stage. He told us, “I love when the whole crowd sings the records with me. It makes me feel like I’ve done my job!” With a new EP dropping very soon, we get the feeling this isn’t the last we’ve heard of NoMBe.
