One To Watch Roya

Coming from deep in London’s West End is one of the most extraordinary vocalists of the year. Roya is breaking into the music scene and with a cover of one of the year’s biggest hit songs the Persian singer is setting up her career in the industry nicely.

Boasting a great following on social media, with her Instagram having over 6,000 followers Roya is showing signs of her popularity. Her cover of Calvin Harris’ track “Summer” takes a more emotional direction, one very different to the original. Roya sure knows how to make a track her own as she moves Calvin Harris’ song to a more Autumnal and haunting direction. Have a listen to the cover below.

Roya is not just stuck doing covers as she lends her brilliant vocals to the dance track ‘Step Back’ by legends Chocolate Puma which also features Shystie and Kris Kiss and was premiered on BBC 1Xtra recently. The London singer is set to enjoy a number of collaborations in 2015 with Pete Tong’s latest protege DJ/Producer John Monkman and which will be released through Armin Van Buuren’s label Armada.

With her covers and collaborations picking up great reviews, Roya’s career is heading in the right direction and is definitely a top singer to watch out for.
