Ones To Watch At Novel Open Air
Taking over a secret location in Melbourne, Novel Open Air will be bringing some of the best and brightest DJs and producers for an all-day party this Saturday 5th March. Playing from 2pm ‘til late, here are the ones to watch at Novel Open Air.
Cyril Hahn
In the early part of his career, Cyril Hahn was known for his remix work of Solange, Jessie Ware, Haim, Sigur Ros and the ever-popular Destiny’s Child remix of ‘Say My Name’. Cyril’s signature, ethereal sound continues to hit a significant nerve with fans and other artists causing a growing demand for touring.
Chrome Sparks
The solo project of the USA’s Jeremy Malvin, Chrome Sparks has been making a name for himself under Sydney-based label, Future Classic following a small handful of self-released singles and two EPs on Bandcamp. Inspired by a background in classical percussion and an obsession with synthesisers, Malvin creates dazed, melodic beat-centric tunes that loosely hang between down-tempo head nodders and up-tempo club bangers.
Client Liaison
Australia’s very own Client Liaison, made up Harvey Miller and Monte Morgan, came together naturally given their shared appreciation of storytelling and dignified belief in the Australian identity. From the studio to the top end of town, Client Liaison’s sound plays out like a long lunch followed by a round of cocktails. Describing their sonic palate as ‘dance electric’, ‘new jack swing’ and ‘pop ballad’, this multi-sensory experience will feed any listeners’ appetite.
Total Giovanni
Another Aus native, Total Giovanni are famous for their visually unique and highly energetic live shows, creating dance music for collective psychic liberation. Having built a reputation on whipping small music venues into wild bacchanalian frenzies, they’ll be bringing their poly-rhythmic jams, strange clothing and liberated masculinity to Novel Open Air.
