Opiuo Australian Tour 2015
After a headlining debut performance at Queensland’s Earth Frequency Festival earlier this year, glitch hop leader Opiuo has announced a live national tour with a 5-piece band.
The past seven years have been beaming with successes to kick-start what has already been a remarkable career for Opiuo. As no stranger to music award ceremonies around Australia, he also cleaned up at the 2013’s UK Glitch-Hop Awards, picking up five different awards and won the Best Electronic Album at the New Zealand Music Awards in 2014. Tackling some of the most prodigious global stages such as Coachella (USA), Glastonbury (UK), Shambhala (Canada), Lightning In A Bottle (USA), Boomtown Fair (UK) and Rainbow Serpent Festival (AUS), Opiou’s fan base has grown immensely, with his set at Rainbow Serpent Festival earlier this year as one of the most talked-about sets post-festival. He first gained recognition in 2010 with his single “Robo Booty” which captured the attention of music lovers around the world for its infectious glitch-hop sound. Since then, his music has reached the #1 position on iTunes, Hype Machine, Beatport and Addictech charts.
Taking on four of the biggest Australian cities, Opiuo has sought out the help of a live band in a bid to integrate acoustic music with electronic to take live electronica to a level never experienced in Australia before.
