Tourism Australia pick for the best job in Queensland was being a Park Ranger but that was before they knew that this awesome place called the Beachcamp Retreat existed and as far as we’re concerned this is the best job in Australia!

You get to live on the worlds largest and most beautifully unique sand island, share people holiday experiences with them be a very special part of our guests memories and explore one of the worlds most famously National Parks.

Sound good? These are the minimum requirements for the job.

You must:

• hold a full open drivers licence and be over 21
• have outstanding customer service skills
• be a good public speaker
• be super super organised
• be a very efficient worker
• have great attention to detail
• be very house proud
• understand the basics about social media advertising
• have hospitality experience
• have a great telephone manner
• strong administration and IT skills
• and be an all round legend to work with!

This job as all jobs in our small team is extremely important to our guests experience on K’gari aka Fraser Island. Drop Bear Adventures has become famous for no other reason than our team of legendary owners, guides, volunteers, office and mechanical staff that all strive to be the best and we want our brand new Beachcamp Retreat to be no different.

Our Retreat Host job includes every job that comes with keeping a clean home:

• washing up and cleaning the kitchen
• making beds
• answering the telephone and emails
• rubbish runs to the refuse area
• ordering food and waste management
• cleaning fridges, walls, floors, bathrooms, doors etc
• sending things off to the mainland to be washed or refilled (i.e. laundry, gas bottles etc)
• Welcoming Drop Bear Adventures tour guests in twice a week and managing their interaction with the facility
• Communicating with management to get things replenished or fixed
• minor decorations and maintenance work
• and having a laugh whilst you work.

This job requires 39 hours a week hard work over 5 days, pays $18ph and is a 3 month position that can will lead to your 2nd year visa if you complete the 3 months.

The 1st week is a trail so we can see if you have what it takes to be a true member of the Drop Bear team. You will be provided 3 meals a day, living quarters at the Beachcamp Retreat and the use of a vehicle if you prove yourself to be a safe and responsible driver.
